Ficino was a great Neoplatonist philosopher who worked under Cosimo de Medici. Lorenzo and Marsilio "shared the belief that a unison between spirit and beauty could be achieved through the curiosity of Venus."(33) Lorenzo encouraged Ficinos study of Christian doctrine.
